The Kruddler Report

For those of you who can't get enough of Kruddler, here's a scoop on a couple of opportunities not listed on their current website. Bassist Tony Zaccardi, is the organizer of tonight's George Harrison Tribute 2 at the Turf Club (featuring artists such as John Ewing, Little Man, Curtiss A, Slim Dunlap, Chris Dorn, and 33 and 1/3 and a giveaway of 3 guitars). Zaccardi will be playing the Turf in the Baby Grant Johnson Band on Saturday night.

On March 8, Kruddler will be one of a plethora of local favorite bands performing at Raleigh's Burrito Bash, for a short set. More on this Burrito Bash later. The lineup is stunning.

As noted on their website, Kruddler will be playing on Thursday, March 3rd at the Triple Rock (with the Centurions, Plate-o-Shrimp, and U-Joint) and Friday, March 11 at the Hexagon.

Come out and support one of Twin Citie's favorite bands!

Hugo Chavez -- "The President is trying to Kill Me"

This is an interesting news update on Hugo Chavez who says that there is an assassination against him being planned. For background on the Chavez story and Washington's actions against him for oil control reasons, rent one of the most excellent documentaries of the past year: The Revolution Will Not Be Televised. It's a fascinating look at what media control and manipulation can do.,12716,1419780,00.html

Midori's Floating World

Had a superb Valentine's Day as it involved sushi and champagne. After Ashtanga, went to my fave sushi place, Midori's Floating World, which is a beautiful small sushi restaurant in the tradition of the Mom and Pop sushi places in Japan. No pretense or glamour. Just phenomenal food in a cozy environment. On Hiawatha near the post office, I so highly recommend it as one of the best in the TC's. Prices are good, staff is very friendly and its always memorable. How can you go wrong with a place that serves free champagne with sushi on Valentine's Day, and on my birthday in November, I was made the sushi roll of my dreams that I was allowed to christian Dragon of Cyn, by flirtaceous chef Tu, with joke candles and a birthday serenade and free wine and desert and comeradie with the entire clientele of the restaurant? I challenge one to come up with a better sushi experience.
